The beloved food truck is opening a new shop in the Columbia Heights neighborhood later this year.

A popular food truck is preparing to bring a taste of Trinidad to DC later this year. Trini Vybez is bringing its distinctive and authentic cuisine to Columbia Heights, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The establishment, beloved for its interpretations of genuine Trinidadian meals, is opening its first brick and mortar at 1400 Meridian Place, NW, a space which formerly housed Karibbean Kitchen and the Getaway. An official opening date is not currently available, however construction appears to be underway at the location.

What Now DC has reached out to Trini Vybez’s owners but has not yet heard back. 

According to the liquor license placard placed at the location, the space will be able to house up to 113 customers, with indoor seating for 88 patrons and accommodations for a 25 seat summer garden. 

Trini Vybes has posted its hours of operation, showing that the restaurant will be serving customers from 5 pm to 10 pm Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 5 pm to midnight on Friday, and noon to midnight on Saturday. 

The Trini Vybez website details what diners can expect from the restaurant, stating “We are expanding into our first flagship brick and mortar. You can expect fine casual dining, bar service, and a cafe experience.”
