The new concept, opening at 1321 Linden Court, NE, will specialize in small plates and cocktails that highlight the owners’ Taiwanese and Salvadoran lineages. According to its liquor license placard, Providencia will be able to accommodate 99 customers-50 seated-once it opens its doors. Bruner-Yang, Tobar, and Gonzalez are shooting for a June debut.

Bruner-Yang brings a wealth of experience and an air of prestige to the project. The chef has earned four nominations from the James Beard Foundation, as well as being named a Michelin Bib Gourmand on six occasions. Additionally, the Taiwan native founded the beloved DC fixture, Maketto. Bruner-Yang has been working with Tobar and Gonzalez for several years, ensuring their partnership is founded on an established rapport.
