A popular DMV-area concept on the rise is continuing its auspicious 2024 by adding a location in Springfield. South Block is bringing healthy, fast-casual cuisine to the Old Keene Mill Shopping Center later this year.
The eatery, which specializes in smoothies and acai bowls, will be occupying 1,401 square feet at 8424 Old Keene Mill Road, in space 24C. South Block founder and CEO Amir Mostafavi confirmed to What Now DC that construction will begin on the new location this summer. While an opening date is not yet available, it is likely the shop will open in late 2024.
2024 has been an exciting and fruitful year for South Block. The chain will be opening a new store in Chantilly this summer, as well as breaking ground on new locations in Fair City and the Dulles Airport during the same season.
Founded in 2011, South Block currently has 16 stores in the DMV region.
