Talkin’ Tacos, a food truck turned fast-casual Mexican eatery based in South Florida serving up scratch-made, innovative Mexican dishes, will open their first Washington D.C. location in Dupont Circle at 1800 M St NW on Friday, August 30. To celebrate, the restaurant will host a grand opening celebration starting at 6p.m. on opening day, with the first 100 guests in line receiving a free order of the concept’s signature Birria Tacos. Guests can enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the evening including photo opportunities with an LED Robot.

The new 2,083 sq. foot restaurant will feature seating for 42, and their chef-driven menu will feature an array of guest-favorites such as Birria Tacos, Birria Ramen, Southwest Chicken Tacos, Birria Pizza and Street Corn in a Cup. A hallmark of the menu is their beef birria which is braised each day for 12 hours resulting in the most tender and savory meat. Guests can also indulge in desserts like loaded Churros, Tres Leches Cake and Tajin & Chamoy gummies or sip on homemade specialty beverages such as lemonades, horchatas and mangonadas.

“We’re bringing Miami vibes to Washington D.C., and it doesn’t get more iconic than that,” said Mohammad Farraj, Talkin’ Tacos co-founder and chief marketing officer in a statement. “There’s a huge void for a unique Mexican restaurant that not only infuses a Miami vibe into the experience but is also quick service without compromising quality. We can’t wait to share our love for tacos with this incredible city and stay open until 4 a.m. in the bustling nightlife neighborhood of Dupont Circle!”

The restaurant’s atmosphere features hand painted murals of pandas and neon signs providing an upbeat yet laid back vibe. Technology features include self-serve kiosks where guests can place their orders efficiently, eliminating the cashier position and allowing faster speed-of-service.

Talkin’ Tacos stormed onto the scene in 2020. It began its journey as a humble food truck in the streets of Miami. The brand has grown tremendously in only four years, with 10 locations set to open this year and no signs of slowing down. They recently opened in Tampa and New York City and will be opening four more in South Florida as well as expanding into new states including Concord, NC and Dallas, TX.

Talkin’ Tacos will be open Monday – Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. with the hours of 11 a.m. – 4 a.m. to follow.
