A popular local restaurant team is preparing to show Leesburg it’s got a whole lot more than just wings up its sleeve. The brains and kitchen behind Buffalo Wing Factory will be opening Second Nature Coffee Co. later this year, reports local media outlet The Burn.
The new concept will be taking over the space at 110 South King Street that has housed King Street Coffee for the past several years. King Street’s final day at the location will be July 29, with Second Nature moving in shortly thereafter.
While Buffalo Wing Factory fans may be surprised to see their favorite eatery pivot from poultry to java, vice president Nikki Sicilian tells What Now DC that Second Nature has been in development for quite awhile. “We have wanted to do a coffee shop for many years.” she states. “We love the opportunity to be creative in a new way, to show another side of us. We also love the chance to do it in a town we call home, with our community surrounding us.“
Sicilian explains that the Second Nature team are enthusiastic about deepening its connection to a neighborhood it calls home. “Downtown Leesburg has a distinct charm. We live here, we walk these streets with our families, we spend our free time supporting the other businesses along King Street and Market Street. We intend to honor the tradition and history of the space and the town that we love so much.”
King Street fans needn’t dread drastic change; Sicilian and her crew are hoping to keep the transition as seamless as possible. She states that visitors can look forward to the: “Same coffee, same staff. We want to make this a smooth and comfortable transition for the guests. Over the coming weeks and months we plan to make some upgrades to the interior and exterior spaces and hope to expand the food offering. We will feature local artisans and food purveyors.”

Second Nature is bound to become a Leesburg favorite, a fresh, new presence that embraces familiarity and honors the region’s community. Sicilian states: “We are excited to freshen up the space but also keep it a cozy, eclectic, quality coffee shop.”
