The Louisiana-based fast food chain seems to be currently bringing in employees to run the location inside Union Station in Northeast D.C., according to Eat DC, a Twitter account that posts food news and reviews.

“Change of mind? @raisingcanes is now hiring for its Union Station location. Looks like they’re back on track for a 2023 opening,” Eat DC tweeted on Tuesday.

It has been reported that Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers postponed its Union Station location opening to 2026 after the company’s co-CEO and chief operating officer, AJ Kumaran, initially said that the spot was under construction and was slated to open in 2021.

What Now DC reached out to Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers’ media office for comment.

The fast food chain has long had an ambitious plan to open nearly 50 D.C.-area locations and previously announced that it was actively pursuing sites in Arlington, Ashburn, and Leesburg, among other areas, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The restaurant chain specializes in serving chicken fingers since it was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The menu also includes sandwiches and Texas toast.
