A new concept from an established DC institution will be helping the burgeoning Skyland Town Center greet the day. Savage Breakfast Club, from the same mind behind Kitchen Savages, will be saying “good morning” to the massive Southeast DC development, according to popular Twitter feed @eat_dc.

The concept, conceived and created by Darrell Gaston, will be part of phase 3 of the years and acres spanning Skyland Town Center project. Mayor Muriel Bowser broke ground on this final leg of the sprawling journey on June 20, making it impossible to predict an opening timeline for Savage Breakfast Club, currently described only as “a new brunch concept”.

If Savage Breakfast Club adheres to the model established by Kitchen Savages, future diners can look forward to an experience that is as community-minded as it is delicious. In addition to serving five-star cuisine, Kitchen Savages provides hospitality training for at-risk young people.

Owner Gaston is a polymath in the truest sense. In addition to being Kitchen Savages executive chef and founder, he has a law degree from Howard University Law School. The entrepreneur is extremely altruistic and dedicated to ensuring his hospitality efforts contribute to the betterment of his community.
