The popular and ever-expanding chicken chain will be located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, NE. Signage has gone up and construction is visibly underway. Raising Cane’s has not announced an opening date for the fast-casual eatery, however the location has been in the works for quite awhile.
The company originally hoped to begin feeding Union Station patrons in October of 2023, but then announced via social media that they were pushing the opening until 2026. However, photos submitted this week show work is very much still occurring at the location which appears very near completion. Additionally, the Union Station storefront has begun hiring staff, indicating fried chicken is in DC’s very-near future.
While this will be Raising Cane’s debut shop in the DC area, according to the popular Twitter feed, @eat_dc, it is the first of several upcoming locations. Locals can look forward to restaurants opening in Falls Church and Springfield in Virginia, and District Heights and Bowie in Maryland.
