The successful chain is bringing its beloved orange chicken to a 3,863 square foot building located at 598 Elden Street. The stand-alone restaurant previously housed a drive-thru Burger King that closed in April of 2023. Because the space already existed as an eatery, it won’t require extensive renovation; Panda Express is proposing primarily cosmetic alterations, including changes to the facade.
An opening timeline is not currently available; the brand is still awaiting some approvals from the Herndon Architectural Review Board.
Founded in 1983, Panda Express has become a formidable presence in the United States fast-casual dining market. The restaurant has over 2,200 locations, including 54 in Virginia.
While the chain offers an array of Chinese dishes, it is most well-known for its orange chicken. Guests can also choose from meals including teriyaki chicken, kung pao chicken, and Beijing beef.
