The chain, founded in 2010 by Tomo Takahashi, is planning to open 25-30 DMV locations in the near future. First up on JINYA’s roster are restaurants in Union Market and Georgetown. Owner Sam Shoja tells What Now DC that he and his team are currently scouting several other DMV spots.

JINYA will be celebrating entering the Union Market community on October 11. The storefront, located at 1259 4th Street NE, will have seating for up to 113 guests indoors, with al fresco dining available for 30 customers. A press release provided What Now DC gives a sneak peak of what locals can look forward to, stating “JINYA’s newest restaurant will feature signature ramen dishes with handmade noodles, slow-simmered broths, Japanese toppings, handcrafted cocktails, and small plates. On grand opening day, the first 100 guests in line by 11 AM will be eligible to receive a voucher for complimentary ramen, on the house (first come, first served). “

Shoja explains that the Union Market location will adhere to the high standards and quality fans have come to expect from the JINYA brand, but adds that “this particular location is unique in that we have a 3 story building with a beautiful outdoor rooftop patio overlooking the Union Market area.”

Georgetown will be JINYA’s next frontier. Shoja and his crew are planning to open a new location at 1525 Wisconsin Avenue NW in “the near future.”

With a beverage program as unique and authentic as its food menu and a dynamic atmosphere, JINYA is certain to become a DC staple. Shoja is enthusiastic about bringing the restaurant to the area, stating “With our 7th JINYA Ramen Bar location opening this weekend in Union Market and the loyal guest following we have seen in recent years throughout the DMV area, we believe guests are ready for our concept to expand and we have the team to do so.”
