Ford’s is constructing a 14,000 square foot building, with 6,000 square feet earmarked for the restaurant. The remaining 8,000 square feet of 25411 Eastern Marketplace Plaza will be rented out to other businesses, which Ford’s is currently vetting. Ground has not yet been broken on the project, however official plans show the site has lots for three businesses, meaning the seafood establishment will be welcoming two neighbors.
Ford’s closed its South Riding location in July, and is ensuring the public doesn’t lose its taste for the eatery’s delicious cuisine by parking a Ford’s on the Road food truck at the site on weekends. Seafood enthusiasts can drop in on Fridays through Sundays to sample Ford’s lobster rolls, crab cake sandwiches, and fish and chips. Those who prefer their food from the land can enjoy Impossible burgers or buffalo chicken tacos. The trucks will be serving locals and earning the eventual brick-and-mortar new regulars from noon to 8 pm.
The food truck will have to sate Loudoun County’s hunger for seafood until 2024. No official opening date has yet been projected for the concept. While the site has experienced delays in attaining some of the building materials, Ford is hopeful that construction will begin soon. The East Gate Marketplace location will be Ford’s third location, joining Lansdowne and Ashburn on the company’s roster.
