The restaurant will be opening its latest location at 14385 Newbrook Drive, in the space that previously housed Farmtruck Pizza & Greens.
Farmside currently has one other location in North Carolina. CEO and industry maverick Meg Schiffman believes that the eatery’s distinctive model will fill a void in the local dining market. She explains: “We’re bringing Farmside Kitchen to Chantilly because we see a real appetite here for fresh, flavorful food that doesn’t compromise on health or taste. As a small business with strong local ties (I’m a VA resident and our co-founder and head of operations lives in Chantilly!), we’re excited to introduce our Americana-inspired grain bowls and salads, scratch-made with ingredients sourced from nearby farms and partners.”
The local community is a cultural epicenter that will provide Farmside with considerable opportunity to share its delicious farmbowls with local foodies. Schiffman states “Chantilly’s vibrant food scene and strong business community make it the perfect next step for Farmside Kitchen’s growth. The Field at Commonwealth is a premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination too – it’s one of Fairfax County’s most significant work-and-life hubs.”
Farmside is still a relatively young brand. However, the warm reception its flagship location has received makes Schiffman and company feel ready for this Northern Virginia expansion. She says “We’ve experienced such a positive response from guests at our first Farmside Kitchen location in Durham, NC – it’s helped build confidence in bringing the brand to new communities.”
Farmside strives to be a safe and kind place in the community, that raises guests’ spirits, as it sates their hunger. Schiffman describes the restaurant’s ethos, stating “At Farmside Kitchen, our purpose is to nourish a happier way of living – for our guests, our team members, our partners and the planet. When someone visits Farmside, we want them to experience what we call Farmside Vibes. Farmside Vibes is a saying we use to describe the intangible experience that makes people feel joyful, warm, connected and nourished because of their interaction with Farmside Kitchen.”
Farmside does not yet have a grand opening date available for its Chantilly debut, however Schiffman says that the eatery is shooting for a December or January opening. The concept will also be opening a new Cary, North Carolina location in 2025.
Farmside is bound to become a Chantilly favorite, which provides locals with good eats and a comforting environment. Schiffman sums up the restaurant’s objective, stating “When our people, food, and physical space come together in a way that clearly expresses who we are, what we stand for and how we act, our guests and everyone that comes into contact with the brand can feel it. We call that feeling “Farmside Vibes” – we hope everyone leaves a little better because of their visit.”
